"Decade from Destruction", a feature length documentary, will send viewers on a harrowing yet rewarding journey that they will not soon forget. The film takes an unflinching look back on the past ten years of political and social turmoil that has tormented the nation of Bosnia. From the concentration camps to the constant political unrest this film will provide an inside look at the people who survived and those who lost their lives fighting for their convictions. With portraits of hate and heroism, "Decade from Destruction" will reflect all that humanity is.

The film opens with archival footage from an evening news segment. Displaying the uncertain and dangerous future for the people of Bosnia during its bloody civil war. Segues into original footage of modern day Bosnia, a country showing signs of reconcile but still plagued with painful reminders of the nightmare that occurred. Narratives will be provided by the survivors of the Serbian detention camps as well as those trapped during the siege of Sarajevo. Their first hand accounts will give the audience an unprecedented look into life in a war torn country, featuring an in-depth look at the abuse and torture suffered by the detainees of the Keraterm and Tronopolje detention camps as well as the atrocities that unfolded at the Omarska death camp. Specifically speaking with Emsuda, a survivor of Tronopolje. Who, since the wars end, has successfully worked to create a peace center in an area known as the "Heart of Darkness" during Bosnia's civil war.

Touching on the events that occurred in Srebrenica, where more than 7,000 men and boys were massacred in what was supposed to be a U.N. safe zone. Still Looming over the hearts and minds of Bosnians is the thought of the 16,000 persons still missing. As of now the remains of 18,000 bodies have been exhumed, many of which were found in the more than 300 mass graves across Bosnia. We will take an intimate look at the hardships of the women as they search for the remains of their loved ones.

In the end, the documentary is a testament of the human spirit and the price that many people paid for their beliefs. While the film deals heavily with the inevitable negatives of war, we intend to show how people can overcome the harsh realities to lead inspire lives of courage and convictions.
